ETHICAL GUIDELINES IN JOURNAL PUBLICATION
Publishing articles in Al-Wihdah: Journal of Islamic Education has a central role in developing a consistent and respected knowledge network. This reflects the quality of the authors' work and the support of the institution, the Nurussalam school of Islamic education. Articles that undergo the peer review process not only support, but also reflect the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to set standards of ethical behavior for all parties involved in the publishing process, including authors, editors, reviewers, publishers, and the public. As the publisher of Al-Wihdah: Journal of Islamic Education at Nurussalam school of Islamic education, we take our oversight responsibilities at every stage of publishing seriously and recognize our ethical obligations and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that editorial decisions are not influenced by advertising, reprints, or other commercial interests.
Editorial Decisions
The editor of Al-Wihdah: Journal of Islamic Education are responsible for selecting articles to be published, based on the validity and relevance of the work to researchers and readers. This decision is guided by editorial board policy and limited by legal requirements, such as libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. In decision-making, discussions with other editors or reviewers may occur.
Plagiarism Check
Authors should submit manuscripts that are free from plagiarism and unethical academic practices. However, each article will be checked by the editors before publication, involving online steps.
Fair Play Principle
Editors evaluate manuscripts intellectually without regard to the author's race, gender, ethnic origin, or nationality.
Confidentiality
Information regarding submitted manuscripts is shared only with authors, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisors, and publishers as per applicable policies.
Disclosures and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished material in the manuscript should not be used by the editors for personal research without written permission from the authors.
DUTIES OF THE REVIEWER
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and can help authors improve manuscript quality through editorial communication.
Timeliness
Reviewers who feel unqualified or unable to complete the review quickly are expected to inform the editor and withdraw from the review process.
Confidentiality
Any manuscript received for review is considered a confidential document and should not be shared without the editor's permission.
Objectivity Standard
Reviews should be conducted objectively without personal criticism of the authors. Referees should express their views clearly and be supported by arguments.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers are expected to identify relevant works not cited by the authors and inform the editor of any substantial similarities between the manuscript under review and other works of which they are aware.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Information obtained through peer review should be kept confidential and should not be used for personal gain. Reviewers should not assess manuscripts that involve a conflict of interest.
Review Process
Every manuscript submitted to Al-Wihdah: Journal of Islamic Education is reviewed independently by reviewers in a form of "double-blind review." Decisions for publication, amendment, or rejection are based on their reports/recommendations.
AUTHOR DUTIES
Reporting Standards
Authors of original research reports must present an accurate account of the work and an objective discussion of its significance. Basic data should be presented accurately and with sufficient detail and references to allow others to repeat the work. Misleading statements.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that they have written a truly original piece of work, and if they have used the work and/or words of others, this must be appropriately cited or quoted.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
In general, an author should not publish scientific work describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or major publication. Submitting an identical manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is considered unethical and unacceptable publication behavior.
Fundamental Errors in Published Work
If an author discovers significant errors or inaccuracies in his or her published work, it is the author's responsibility to notify the journal editor or publisher immediately and work with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
